The classic German noble aroma hop associated with Bavarian style lager beers.
At one time the major Hallertau landrace variety with a highly acclaimed aroma profile
Early to mid-season
1300 - 1800 kg./ha. or 1150 - 1600 lb./ac.
Moderately vigorous on most soil types
Sensitive to German wilt which resulted in reduction of its acreage and replacement by Hersbrucker over the 1970's and 1980's.
Lightish, fluffy cone
Pale to medium yellow in color
